Reverberation Acoustic Chamber

The Reverberation Acoustic Chamber Facility (RAC) simulates the noise environment such as the satellite under the fairing during the launch lift off. Fig 1 shows the principle of acoustic test.

Product Details

The main technical specifications of the proposed reverberation chamber test system are as follows:

- Theorical Volume: V1800 m

- Dimension: ~16m×16m×7m(L×W×H) 

- Hard and smooth walls decreasing the absorption 

- MAX OASPL:148dB 

- Spatial homogeneity: the homogeneity in the empty chamber will have to be better than 6 dB between 2 microphones for each frequency octave band, and better than 1dB for OASPL..

- Sound source: Three horns together with modulators will be provided, one set loudspeaker will be provided to generate sound at high frequency range.Gas generation system: compressed air, flowrate will match with requirement of modulators, Compressors\air dryers\filters \pipeline and tanks etc. will be designed and provided. 

- Main door: Door(s) shall be closely bounded to the chamber during a test to avoid a relative displacement which will affect the acoustic performance. The size of main door can be customized; the preliminary size is 5m(W)×6m(H). 

- Isolation: Spring boxes solution is the base solution. The first 6 modes of rigid body will be  lower than 6 Hz. 

- Acoustic test control system: 8 output channels and 16 input channels. Spectrum can be set in 1/1 oct and 1/3 oct. 

- Microphone:16 microphones and ten microphone holders.
